George M. Drysdale, Chairman & CEO, Marsman Drysdale Group George Marsman Drysdale is Chairman and CEO of the Marsman Drysdale Group, a diversified Philippine-based holding and management company with interests in the agribusiness, tourism and medical products. The Group’s current operating interests primarily include tropical fruit (banana and mango) for export throughout Asia and the Middle East, medical equipment distribution, and corporate travel and tour services. Mr. Drysdale also makes direct private equity investments in high growth communications, media and consumer beverage companies in the Philippines and in the United States. Since 1994, Mr. Drysdale has been an investor in the San Francisco Giants baseball team. Prior to joining the Marsman Drysdale Group in 1991, Mr. Drysdale was a venture capitalist, first as General Partner of Hambrecht & Quist Venture Partners of San Francisco (1983-1988), and then as a managing General Partner of Westar Capital, a management buyout firm. From 1981 to 1983, Mr. Drysdale practiced corporate, securities, and tax law for Davis, Polk & Wardwell, a Wall Street law firm. Mr. Drysdale was born in Manila, Philippines and raised in California and the Philippines. He received a B.S. in Engineering from Harvey Mudd College (Claremont, CA) in 1976 and a J.D. from Stanford Law School and a M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business in 1980. Mr. Drysdale was awarded a White House Fellowship in 1987 and served as Special Assistant to Secretary of Agriculture Richard Lyng. Mr. Drysdale served three terms as the President of the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines and three terms as the Chairman of the twenty-six member chambers of the Asia-Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC). Mr. Drysdale splits his time between Manila, Philippines and Hillsborough, California. He has five children: Catherine, Jennifer, George, Caroline, and Jack. In his spare time, George enjoys golf, tennis and coaching his children’s sports teams.

  Steven Okun, Senior Advisor, McLarty Associates Steven Okun is Senior Advisor for geostrategic consultancy McLarty Associates, and CEO of APAC Advisors, an ESG consultancy which partners with private capital firms. This is his fourth time elected as Chair of AmCham’s of Asia Pacific, previously serving from 2009-2012). He has been active in American Chambers of Commerce throughout his time in Asia, including serving four terms as Governor of AmCham Singapore, being elected its Chair three times. In creating and leading KKR’s Asia Pacific Public Affairs from 2011-2017, Steven’s regional leadership focused on KKR’s government relations, communications and ESG initiatives. Prior to joining KKR, he created and led Asia public affairs for global logistics firm UPS (2003-2010), and led their international aviation negotiations team in Washington, DC (1999-2003).. A member of the Clinton Administration, Steven served as Deputy General Counsel at the Department of Transportation where the Secretary awarded him a Special Service Commendation. A sought-after expert, he speaks frequently in the media, authors regular commentary and gives speeches and presentation to businesses, universities and at conferences across the region. Steven is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Virginia School of Law and has lived in Singapore since 2003.

Leadership, Alan Beebe, AmCham China

Alan Beebe, AmCham China Al has been President of AmCham China since early 2016. He joined the chamber from EY China, where he was Executive Director leading the company’s Cleantech and Supply Chain Management practices. His clients included major global corporations, primarily diversified industrials and high-technology companies operating in China. Al has 20 years of management consulting experience in the US, China and other Asian countries helping clients develop and implement sound business, operations and technology strategies. Prior to joining EY, he held executive positions with the China Greentech Initiative, IBM, and management consulting firms AT Kearney and PRTM.   Al holds a Master’s degree from Yale University in International Relations and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Computer Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the United States. He is on the Board of Advisors of the Yale Club of Beijing and in that capacity promotes academic and cultural exchanges between the United States and China.  Alan has lived in China since 2002 and speaks Chinese fluently.
